Laura Gregory
Laura Gregory (she/her) is a Long Beach native, and is simply chuffed that Everybody Gym is opening right here in her hometown. When she first read about Everybody, she knew she needed to be part of it. Inclusivity and acceptance is massively important to her, and it’s her belief that Pilates - and all fitness, honestly - have been gate-kept from many communities for far too long. Being a Queer, plus size, differently abled woman, Laura never quite felt at home in the “Fitness Universe” - and now, with Everybody, she cannot wait to share the inclusive practice of Pilates with all of you.
Teaching’s been a central part of Laura’s world for the better part of her life. Over the years, she’s taught Dance, Musical Theatre, Acting, Voice, Kids Yoga, Art, Sign Language, Puppetry, Elizabethan Folklore, and more that she’s sure she’s forgotten to mention. Now, Pilates is the next chapter in her teaching story.
Laura’s other passion is performing. As a singer, actor, and flutist, she specializes in Musical Theatre, Celtic folk music, and most recently, has been a guest with the local jazz band “South Side Jazz.” She can also sing “We’re In The Money” in Pig-Latin. Just ask her. She’ll be happy to show you.
Oh, also, Laura is in the process of growing out her hair for the 473rd time. If you see her with shears or clippers going toward her head, gently remove the sharp items and reassure her that this awkward phase will pass, and remind her how happy she will be when her hair is finally long again.
