I’ve always found freedom in movement. As a kid, I’d suppress it, in order to avoid the looks, judgements and criticisms from those who viewed me and the way I moved as not conforming to the way a boy “should” move.

My introduction to yoga began in 2021 with a free community class in the park. Initially, my practice was all about maintaining correct and aesthetically pleasing postures, motivated by a sense of competition with those around me. After introspection and consistent practice, I came to recognize the myriad benefits this practice has to offer. In 2023 I enrolled in a 200-hour teacher training course and have been leading classes since the literal day after receiving my certificate. I’ve since founded a Queer Power Yoga class at the LGBTQ Center in Long Beach. I’ve taught regularly in studio, gym, and one-on-one settings. In April 2026, I completed a 300-hour advanced teacher training course.

My teaching is driven by the desire to provide a communal space for students of all levels to feel belonging and a renewed connection with the most authentic version of themselves. Movement is the perfect tool to inspire presence, to become a better observer of oneself, and to release discouraging expectations we have for ourselves and our practice.

This practice has allowed me to shrug off needless self-doubt, to move freely in my body, and to be present in my life. Yoga is not always about feeling better. At its best, yoga gives you an opportunity to truly see where you are, mentally and physically, and to recognize that you can change the direction of your life.

Movement, breath, acceptance, patience and consistency: these are foundational elements for a fruitful yoga practice. Come practice with me and uncover the real you that yearns to move and live freely.
